On her lap is another female Mudhead, with a smaller plaque. They are each painted wearing a manta. The piece is signed on the base, “Tony Dallas”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Tony Dallas was born in 1956 on the Hopi pueblo. He married into the Cochiti Pueblo in the early 1980s. In 1982 he began to learn the art of working with clay sculptures by observing his mother-in-law, Lucy R. Suina. He signs his art as T.D. followed by a badger claw to denote his Clan origin. Tony is related to the late Charles Loloma.
