Tina Diaz is a daughter of Mary Cain and a sister of noted potters Joy, Linda and Billy Cain.  She makes very few pieces of pottery each year and this is one of her largest pieces!  It is carved around the shoulder with bird and cloud designs.  It is an elegant pattern that flows across the surface of the piece.  The design makes use of the negative space on the top and bottom of the jar.  The background area which is matte is “rounded”, which adds another dimension to her pottery!  The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Tina Diaz”.
