Tina Diaz is a daughter of Mary Cain and a sister of noted potters Joy, Linda, and Billy Cain. She makes very few pieces of pottery each year, and this jar is a classic piece with a round body and a turned-out rim. The jar is deeply carved with a complex lighting pattern that encircles the piece. The entire surface is fully polished and it is fired a glassy black coloration. The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Tina Diaz”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
