This is a large open bowl by Carmelita Dunlap.  The bowl has a slight rim and the interior is fully polished.  On the outside, there is a rain and lightning design.  The piece was traditionally fired to a glassy black coloration.  On large open bowls in this shape, it’s great to see the interior so well preserved as we often see them scratched and damaged.  The bowl is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Carmelita Dunlap”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
