This is a classic water jar by Carmelita Dunlap.  The jar has a round shape and an elongated neck. The entire piece is fully polished and then painted. The jar has flower, feather, rain, and geometric patterns.  It is a complex design across the surface of the piece. The jar has a fully polished lid, which is unusual in Carmelita’s pottery.  The jar and lid were fired a deep black coloration.  The jar is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Carmelita Dunlap”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
