Cynthia Star Flower Dunlap (1959-2018) was a daughter of Carmelita Dunlap and a granddaughter of Juanita Montoya Vigil, the youngest sister of Maria Martinez.  She was a sister to Linda Dunlap, Jennie Dunlap, Carlos Dunlap, and Martha Appleaf Fender.   This jar is her famous brown firing coloration.  The jar is coil-built and has a kiva step-carved design extending down the neck. The piece is painted with clay on a polished surface.  The designs are prayer feathers (on the back), cloud, and corn designs.  The piece was fired a deep brown coloration.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Cynthia Star Flower”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
