Edaakie, Tim & Bobby Silas – Open Bowl with Broadface Katsina Design (2017)

10"w x 4"h

$ 750.00

Tim Edaakie and Bobby Silas worked together on their pottery. Tim was Zuni while Bobby is Hopi and their pottery was created to envision historic pottery shapes and designs.  Sadly, Tim passed away in 2020.  This is a large open bowl made by Bobby and painted by Tim. The bowl has a round shape and just a small rim. The interior is painted with a stylized Brodface Katsina.  It is a design that fills the space. On the bottom it says that it was fired using lignite coal, which they had been experimenting with for firing of their pottery, harkening back to the ancient Sikyatki pottery.  It is signed on the bottom, “T. Edaakie  B. Silas, 2017”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
