Mary Louise Eteeyan is known for her delicately painted pottery and carved lids.  This bowl is polished red around the base and rim. The center band is painted in matte with red, white, black, and tan clay slips There are mesa and plant designs.  The lid has a polished rim and a sculptured butterfly on top.  Note the detail in the design and shape of the butterfly!  It is signed on the bottom, “Mary L Eteeyan”.
