Fender, Erik – Green-on-Black Round Box with Feather Designs

Erik Fender is the son of Martha Appleleaf and the grandson of noted potter Carmelita Dunlap. Erik combines classic San Ildefonso imagery with his own creative style. This is a round bowl that is fully polished and painted. Around the sides are feather designs and a storm pattern. The lid has plant and mountain designs. The piece was fired black then “two-toned” green-on-black. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair. The box is signed, with his Tewa name, “Than Tsideh”.
