Jody Folwell is known for her creative pottery shapes and designs.  This open bowl is fully polished on the front and the back.  It is painted with clay to create a series of stars across the surface of the piece.  The rim of the bowl is carved with a stylized mountain on one side and an indention on the other.  It is meant to have the bowl look as if you are peering at the stars from either a canyon or a mountain, a glimpse into the universe.  It was fired a dark brown coloration.  The bowl is signed, “JF” on the bottom.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
