Jody Folwell is known for her creative pottery shapes and designs.  This small jar is from the 1970s.  It is fully polished red and then etched with lighting designs. What is interesting about the piece is the various levels of carving on the piece.  There are more deeply carved geometrics and very lightly etched clouds. The jar reveals the variety of techniques in her early pottery art! The jar was traditionally fired.  It is signed on the bottom, “Jody”.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
