Kaa Folwell is one of the exciting young potters working today. This is an exceptional piece of her pottery. The jar is coil-built. The entire piece is fully carved with graffiti style designs ranging from the Folwell family “x” to clouds, and lightning. However, take a closer look, and all the designs are carved in a rounded style for the back ground, a “pillow effect”, which creates added dimension. The designs are highlighted with acrylic. It is a colorful and complex piece! It is signed, “Kaa”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Description
Kaa Folwell is one of the exciting young potters working today. This is an exceptional piece of her pottery from 2015. The round jar is fully polished to a high shine. There are two avanyu etched into the clay and encircling the jar. One has a Santa Clara-style horn, and the other is a San Ildefonso style. They are etched into the clay and then painted with a matte clay slip. There are also the Folwell family “x’s” placed around the jar as well. The piece is a striking combination of shape, polish, and design. It is signed, “Kaa”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
