Susan Folwell continues to combine classic imagery with her own contemporary style of shape and design. This jar has a wide shoulder and a curved neck. The piece has a very fluid feel to the form. The entire jar is fully polished. It was traditionally fired brown. The jar is signed, “Susan Folwell”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.

Susan Folwell continues to combine classic imagery with her own contemporary style of shape and design. This is an unusual 2 pieces set of her work. It is a two piece set mean to look like a flower. The outer bowl is undulating with 12 ribs, representing flower petals. The inner piece sits inside the melon jar and it is fully polished and fired a brownish red coloration. The bottom of the outer bowl has an incised butterfly. It is definitely a creative use of form and design to create something exceptional. The piece is from around 2000. The inner jar is signed on the bottom, “Susan Folwell”. They are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
