6.5'w x 3.25"h

$ 775.00

Glendora Fragua is known for her polished and intricately incised pottery.  This is a large wide-shoulder jar that is polished red at the top and tan below the shoulder.  The top has a fluted rim with flower motifs.  There is a polychrome avanyu etched into the clay and painted with clay slips.  Around the shoulder are red flower petals above tan polished water designs.  There is a single inset piece of lapis for the eye of the avanyu.  The colors are clays that are painted onto the piece to accentuate the detail of the designs.  The jar has a tan lid that fits into the piece.  The bowl is signed on the bottom with a corn stalk, Glendora’s hallmark.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
