Juanita Fragua was known for classic Jemez pottery and was the mother of potters BJ Fragua and Glendora Fragua and son Cliff Fragua, who is a well-known sculptor. This is a very large polychrome jars. It has a wide shoulder and short neck. The top is polished tan and the bottom polished red. It is painted with a series of four corn plants. The shape, size, and color are exceptional on this piece! It is signed on the bottom, “Juanita Fragua”. The jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
