Teresita Galvan is a sister of noted potter Euseubia Shije.  She began making pottery in the 1980s.  Each piece is coil-built and painted with native clay slips.  This jar has a round shoulder and sloping.  There are traditional Zia birds, flowers, and clouds as the design.  They are painted with clay slips and the red areas are stone polished. The base is also fully polished.  The piece was traditionally fired.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom, “Teresita Galvan”.
