Gloria Garcia is known for her miniature sgraffito pottery.  She is a daughter of Petra Gutierrez and the sister of Lois Gutierrez, Minnie Vigil, and Thelma Talachy.  This bowl is fully polished red and etched with ten bluebirds.  Each bird is in a different stage of flight and they are tightly designed in the clay.  They are highlighted with a blue clay slip.  The background tan area has been texturized.  This piece is signed on the bottom with her Tewa name “GoldenRod”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
