Garcia, Tina – Red Terrace Bowl (1990s)

8.5"w x 7.25"h

$ 900.00

Tina Garcia was well known for her focus on traditional shape and plainware Santa Clara pottery. This is a traditional-style terrace or “kiva” bowl. The bowl has a sharp shoulder and on one side there is a stepped design. This is often referred to as a “kiva” bowl, but the step design actually represents a mountain and the terraces or steps on the side. The bowl is highly polished and fired a deep red.   Tina was always focused on form and polish and this created some exceptional vessels.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Tina Garcia”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
