Virginia Garcia is a sister of noted potters Tina Garcia and Greg Garcia.  While she no longer makes pottery, much like her siblings, she was known for her traditional forms and creative firings.  This large water jar has a round body and elongated neck. The rim has an undulating shape or “raindrop rim”.  It is a classic style in Santa Clara pottery. The jar is coil-built and fully polished.  It was fired a dark black coloration.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, ‘Virginia Garcia”.
