This plate by John Gonzales is from 2001.  John was well known for his plates and intricately etched designs.  This plate is matte red and tan.  There is a band of feathers and a band with an avanyu.  In the center, the plate is matte red and there is a single inset piece of turquoise.  There are two rows of turquoise hei-shi beads.  The background area, which has been etched away, has a micaceous clay slip.  The plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.  It is signed on the back, “John Gonzales”.
