This is an unusual bird effigy bowl by Juanita Gonzales.  The piece has a round body with an extended head, wings, and tail.  The front, the wings, and the tail are all painted with designs.  It is a charming piece and the painted wings and other details just add to its creativity!  The bird was fired to a glassy, nearly gunmetal coloration.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.    The jar is signed on the bottom, “Juanita”.   It is great to find an effigy piece like this in such great condition!
