Marie Gonzales is a sister of noted potter John Gonzales and a daughter of Lorenzo Gonzales.  This bowl was made in 1983.  It is fully polished red and etched with very thin feathers.  The tightness of the feather pattern gives the bowl a very modern appearance to a very classic design.  The bowl is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed on the bottom, “Marie Gonzales Pena”.  While Marie makes very little pottery today, her work is always creative and detailed in the execution of the design.
