Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowl. This jar is from 1993.  It is his classic style of “faceted” melon jar.  Each rib extends from the rim to the base and they are flattened to create a “faceted” appearance.  The ribs are evenly spaced and perfectly straight.  The straight swirl from the neck around the shoulder to the base.  They are a bit deeper than usual and perfectly accentuate the “faceted” style!  The jar is highly polished and fired a glassy black.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
