Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls.  However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This jar is fully polished and painted with very tightly painted feathers.  There are 30 feathers encircling the jar.  Note how they are painted at a slight angle. Around the neck of the jar are rain cloud designs.  The piece is polished to a glossy shine.  It is from 1991.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
