Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls.  However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This jar has a low shoulder and sloping sides.  It has 36 feathers painted onto the polished surface. Note how they are painted at a slight angle.  Above the feathers are terraced cloud and rain patterns.  The bowl is polished to a glossy shine.  It is from 1988.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
