Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls.  However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This jar has a round shoulder and a short neck.  It is very highly polished. The jar is painted with 29 feathers around the top of the jar.  Note how tightly they are painted and at just a slight angle.  Below the feathers are cloud and rain patterns.  The jar is from 1991.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
