Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls.  However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This bowl has a round shape and is highly polished.  There are 62 feathers painted onto the polished surface. Note how they are painted at a slight angle.  The bowl is polished to a glossy shine and fired to a near silvery coloration.  It is from 1987.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
