Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls.  However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This jar has a round body and an elongated neck.  Around the shoulder there are 44 feathers painted onto the polished surface. Note how they are painted at a slight angle. Above them are rain, cloud, and mountain designs.  The jar is highly stone-polished polished to a glossy shine.  It is from 1987.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
