Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls. However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This is one of his few red pieces. The bowl is fully polished red and painted around the shoulder with an avanyu and clouds. The bowl has a striking red lid! It is also fully polished, and both were traditionally fired. It is from 2006. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
