Denny Gutierrez was known for his faceted melon bowls. However, he also created exceptional painted vessels. This is one of his few red pieces. The jar is fully polished red and painted around the shoulder with an avanyu and clouds. The jar has striking sculpted red lid! It is also fully polished and both were traditionally fired. It is from 2007. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed on the bottom in the clay, “Denny Gutierrez”.
