This is a classic polychrome koshari storyteller by Margaret Gutierrez.  After her brother, Luther passed away, Margaret both made and painted the pottery.  This koshari is fully painted and there are seven smaller kosharis on the back of the larger figures.  The kosharis are clowns with black-and-white stripes.  They are each whimsical in style.  All of the colors are from natural clay slips.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom, “Margaret”.
