This is a classic polychrome nativity set by Margaret Gutierrez.  After her brother, Luther passed away, Margaret both made and painted the pottery.  There are 11 pieces in this nativity Set.  There is Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, a clay manger, three wise men, two lamps, a donkey, and a cow.  The three wise men are holding a canteen, corn, and a raccoon.  Each of the animals is whimsical in style.  All of the colors are from natural clay slips.   It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  Each piece is signed on the bottom, “Margaret”.
