Mary Gutierrez (1941-2018) was a sister of Joe Talachy and Stella Tanner.  She was known for her miniature pottery.  This piece is coil-bulit, stone polished, and etched. The design has a large bird standing on a branch.  There are flowers on the branch and there are five turquoise stones.  The remainder of the piece is fully polished.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.  It is signed on the bottom, “Mary Gutierrez”.  She primarily made pottery in the 1980s, and this is one of the few pieces of her pottery we have had come through the gallery.
