Virginia Gutierrez was of the few polychrome potters from Nambe Pueblo. She is known for her experimentation with various clay slips.  This bowl is flat and painted on the top with clay slips.  The design is a sun pattern over mountains with a feather design below.  There are seven different colors of clay used on the bowl.  It is signed on the bottom, “V. Gutierrez”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
