Virginia Gutierrez was of the few polychrome potters from Nambe Pueblo. She is known for her experimentation with various clay slips.  This seedpot is coil-built and painted with clay slips.  There are four sunface designs on the side.  The top has a cloud and four direction design. There are four different colors of clay used on the piece.  It is signed on the bottom, “V. Gutierrez”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
