Andrew Harvier and Judy Harvier work together under the name “Nana Kaa”, which means Aspen Leaves in Tewa. Judy is a sister of noted potter Debra Duwyenie. This jar is coil-built and stone polished. The piece is entitled, “Earth Currents”. It has the top and bottom polished and the central area is matte. The central band is deeply incised with angular cuts creating swirling circles. The polished areas have angular cloud and lightning designs. It is a visually striking piece. The jar was fired a deep black coloration. The piece is from 2002 and has a First Place and Best of Division award from Santa Fe Indian Market. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed, “Nana Kaa” on the bottom.
