Andrew Harvier and Judy Harvier work together under the name “Nana Kaa”, which means Aspen Leaves in Tewa. Judy is a sister of noted potter Debra Duwyenie. This turtle is made from micaceous clay. The back is carved with a swirling water design. There is a single inset piece of turquoise in the center. It was traditionally fired to create slight color variations on the surface. It is from 1999. The jar is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. It is signed, “Nana Kaa” on the bottom.

Andrew is a son of Andrita Harvier and a grandson of Marina Naranjo. He is a nephew of Pula Gutierrez. Judy Harvier is a sister of noted potter Debra Duwyenie and a niece of Lois Gutierrez, Gloria Garcia, Thelma Talachy, and Minnie Vigil.
