This is a creative clay bear figure by Art Cody Haungooah.  It was coil-built and fully polished.  It was fired black, and then the back was two-toned sienna. There is an inset piece of turquoise on the top of the piece. There are deeply incised mountain designs around the sienna area.  There are heartlines on either side and a leather strap across the body of the piece.  It is a classic in his style of clay bears and creates a striking visual appearance.  Art Cody was known for his bears.  It is signed on the front of the leg in the clay, “Haungooah”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
