Homer, Robert Allen – Black and Sienna Jar with Eagle and Kiva (1991)

This jar is by Robert Allen Homer.  He is a Zia and Hopi, and is a son of Marie Moquino and a nephew of Corn Moquino.  It is Corn Moquino (Santa Clara), who taught him to make pottery.  This piece is coil-built, stone polished, fired, and etched with design.  There is an eagle on the piece with its wings extended across the top of the seedpot. In front of the eagle is a kiva and kiva ladder.  The eagle is two-toned sienna.  It is signed, “RH”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
