She began making pottery in 1940 and was part of the Butterfly Clan and lived in Schomovi on First Mesa. She was known for her traditional Hopi pottery. This pitcher is made from red Hopi clay and painted with bee-weed (black). There are rows of water designs the encircle the piece. The piece was traditionally fired to create the blushes on the surface. The bowl is signed, “Marcella Kahe”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
