Val Kahe is a daughter of noted potter Gloria Kahe.  She is known for her intricately painted pottery.  This plate is fully polished on the front and back.  The design on the front has a tightly painted Sikyatki hummingbird.  It is painted with bee-weed (black)  There are an additional five hands as the design with stippling around them.  It has been traditionally fired to create fire clouds.  It is signed on the back, “V. Kahe”.
