Norman Lansing (Ute) is a self-taught potter. He etches finely detailed designs and images of the natural and spiritual energies in his world. He mixes his own glazes to create the effect he wants depending on the story he’s telling. This seedpot is thin-walled and entitled, “Four Seasons of Peace”. There are four different sun or shield designs as the piece is turned. They are etched into the clay. The piece is signed near the base, “N. Lansing”. His buffalo cipher is also etched into the bottom. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
