Emma Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis. This is one of her few larger plates. There are six Mimbres animals painted as the design. There is a bear, parrot, antelope, bird, turtle, and heartline bear. The designs are accented with additional clay slips. The plate is signed on the bottom, “Emma Lewis”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
