Emma Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis. This jar is a classic bowl that is made from native clay and painted with bee-weed. There are Mimbres inspired “mythical birds” on the bowl. On the base, there is a mountain design. The bowl is signed on the bottom, “Emma Lewis”. It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair. There is a third place ribbon from the 1979 Santa Fe Indian Market.
