Emma Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis.  This is a classic, thin-walled bowl that is coil-built and painted with bee-weed. The bowl has a low shoulder and sloping side.  There is a classic mountain and rain design painted along the neck and four swirling Acoma birds extending down to the base.  It is signed, “Emma Lewis”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
