Lewis, Emma -Jar with Eight Heartline Deer (1970s)

6.25"w x 5"h

$ 450.00

Emma Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis.  This jar is a classic of her style with a high shoulder and tightly painted designs.  There are eight heartline deer painted on the jar.  Each deer is painted with a red heartline, which indicates the center or “heart” of the deer.  This is a traditional Acoma and Zuni design that works perfectly on this bowl.  The bowl is signed on the bottom, “Emma Lewis”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
