Lewis, Emma -Jar with Heartline Deer Families (1970s)

4.25"w x 3"h

$ 350.00

Emma Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis.  This bowl is a classic of her style with thin walls and tightly painted designs.  There are two families of Heartline deer on each side.  It is a really charming piece!  Each deer is painted with a red heartline, which indicates the center or “heart” of the deer.  This is a traditional Acoma and Zuni design that works perfectly on this bowl.  The bowl is signed on the bottom, “Emma Lewis”.  It is in very good condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
