Emma Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis.  This is one of the largest pieces we have had of her wrok.  It is a classic bowl with a fully painted exterior.  There are twelve Mimbres rabbits as the design.  The rabbits are white (the polished area of the bowl) surrounded by the black bee-weed creating their design.  It is a striking bowl with a large size and interesting design.  The bowl is signed on the bottom, “Emma Lewis”.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration, or repair.
