Emma Lewis was a daughter of noted potter Lucy M. Lewis. This small open bowl is designed in the shape of Mimbres pottery. The interior is painted with bee-weed (black) and there are mountain and rain cloud designs. The bowl is signed on the side, “Emma Lewis”. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
