Lewis.  This is one of her few figurative pieces.  She made two ram effigy pieces in 1984.  Both were inspired by the figurative pottery from Chaco Canyon.  The piece is coil-built and painted with bee-weed.  The sides and back have rain and lightning deigns.  The figure is signed on the bottom, “Emma Lewis”. The ‘”#1″ indicates is the first of the two ram pieces.  It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, restoration or repair.
